LEGO's Bionicles are a bunch of cool dudes who live on the island paradise of Mata Nui. The island was named after the Great Spirit, Mata Nui, who created it. But, the god's evil bro, Makuta, unleashed some bad mojo to trap Mata Nui so he could take over and be a big bully. The good news is that the island of Mata Nui has six heroic defenders, the Toa, who keep Makuta and his shadowy minions under control.

Bionicle: The Mask of Light DVD Plot

The Bionicle movie is about Jaller and Takua, two Matorans, who've found the Mask of Light. They have to run like heck all over the island of Mata Nui to find the seventh Toa of Light before Makuta's Rahkshi goons find them.

Bionicle: The Mask of Light - Good Stuff

The whole Bionicle movie is computer generated, like Finding Nemo and the characters look almost exactly like the LEGO action figures. You get to see a lot of the island of Mata Nui, including a sports game. There is a peak into what is instore for the world of Bionicles in 2004!

Bionicle: The Mask of Light - Shadow Stuff

There are a few lame things on the Bionicle DVD, like the way the Gukko bird is ignored the second it crashes and how the movie needs an extra few minutes at the end to explain some stuff. The DVD could also use some extra character info and galleries to really bring the Bionicles to life.

Bionicle: The Mask of Light - Bottom Line

The Bionicle movie on DVD is a fun adventure on the island of Mata Nui for Bionicle fans, but it's not a good intro if you're a newbie to the world of Bionicles.

Bionicle Movie Rating: 4
