She was goofy and giggly in
13 Going on 30, but now Jennifer Garner is getting serious in the new action-thriller, Elektra. Continuing her role from 2003's Daredevil, Jennifer takes center stage as the butt-kicking Marvel comic character. Read on for the Kidzworld review!

Elektra - She's Back

Although she was killed at the end of Daredevil, warrior Elektra was brought back by her mentor, Stick and became a trained assassin. Elektra spends her time alone, waiting for her next assignment in a peaceful, seaside home. There, she masters her martial arts skills and practices Kimagure, a power which allows her to see into the future. At night, she has nightmares of her mother's unexplained murder which happened when Elektra was a little girl.

Elektra - On The Run

Elektra befriends Mark Miller (Goran Visnjic) and his daughter Abby (Kirsten Prout) who live next door - the same people who she has been assigned to kill. After bonding with them over a quiet Christmas dinner, Elektra goes against her orders and is forced to kill an assassin on her team in order to protect them. She discovers that Mark and Abby are on the run from The Hand, a gang of butt-kicking assassins with evil powers who want Abby, a marital arts prodigy, to join them. Risking her own life, Elektra takes them into hiding.

Elektra - Battles It Out

Determined to bring Abby to the dark side, The Hand use their powers to seek them out. Once face-to-face, they launch into special effects filled battle scenes where Elektra defends herself with a pair of Sai Swords. The final fight scene, which finally has Elektra sporting her signature red corset and leather pants, has a mystical, asian vibe. Can Elektra save her new friends and discover the truth about her mother's murder? You'll have to wait and see!

Elektra - DVD Features

If you're a Jennifer Garner fan, then the Elektra DVD definitely delivers some cool extras. Not only will you get to check out deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes featurettes, you'll also get to watch an interview with Jennifer herself!

Elektra - The Bottom Line

Jennifer's acting skills are limited in this movie as she has the same serious expression most of the time. On the bright side, the movie showcases her amazing fitness level. Jen endured intense physical training to prepare for the role, reportedly beginning her workouts at 4:30am! Alias fans might feel like they're watching an extra-long episode of the show in which she plays tough-as-nails double-agent Sydney Bristow.

If you're not too concerned about the plot and you're down for a dose of girl power, check this movie out. If you're expecting Elektra to start up a romance with a hot warrior or Ben Affleck to make a cameo, don't get your hopes up.
