Snowboarding Phone Gear

Dec 27, 2006

Imagine a snowboard helmet with a built-in cell phone. Or a boarding jacket with an MP3 player! Burton and Motorola have teamed up to make it happen. Check out these up and coming snowboarding gadgets.

Helmets With Phone and Tunes

Burton and Motorola have created a snowboarding helmet and beenie which allows riders to stay connected to their tunes and cell phone. The phone and music system is built-in to the side of the headware and allows you to switch between your MP3 playlist or cell phone with a simple switch. This means you can tell your friends about the 360 your about to land in mid-air or call your mom to say you'll be later for dinner, without leaving the slopes.

The Ultimate Boarding Jacket

The Burton-Motorola jacket links a rider's cell phone or iPod to a system inside the jacket that can easily be operated with a remote control switch on the side of the sleeve. Stereo speakers are built into the hood of the jacket and a microphone is built in the upper section near the collar, allowing you to talk on the phone or listen to tunes without changing your ride.

The helmet, beenie and jacket will be in stores by December 2005, so stay tuned.
