The Making Of S Club 7

In 1999 the former manager of the Spice Girls, Simon Fuller, brought the lucky seven together after auditioning more than 10,000 performers. Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt and Rachel Stevens made the final cut. All seven members have backgrounds in music and performing. Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett appeared on Britain's Top Of The Pops show, Paul Cattermole was a member of the National Youth Music Theater and lead singer of a rock band and Hannah acted on television shows, commercials and on the stage. Jon Lee starred in the soap opera Eastenders and Jo O'Meara performed in clubs. Rachel Stevens is a former model with acting and singing credits.

S Club 7's Big Break

S Club 7 began working on their first album and also on a TV series for Britain's BBC called Miami 7. The show is about the adventures of an up-and-coming music group living in Florida. In 1999 they released their debut album in England called S Club (released in the US in 2000) and the first song Bringing It All Back hit the top of the charts. Around the same time the TV show Miami 7 became the top kids' show in the UK. The show hit the US on the Fox Family Channel in the fall of 1999 and changed its name to S Club 7 in Miami. S Club 7 put out its second album called 7 in the UK, but it wasn't available in the US until 2001. In 2002, S Club 7 released its third album, Don't Stop Movin'. Shortly after the release of the third album, Paul Cattermole left S Club 7. The group changed their name to S Club for a while but broke up in May of 2003.

S Club 7 - Did U Know?

  • S Club 7's management has formed a new group of junior pop stars called S Club 8. The members range from 11 to 14 years old.
  • All of the members of S Club 7 starred in the movie Seeing Double.
  • Bradley McIntosh's parents were in a pop band called the Cool Notes.

S Club 7 Says...

"We're really lucky because we've got to experienced lots of different things. We've had the opportunity to do acting and singing at the same time."
