Hit the slopes for motion-sensitive snowboarding fun in SSX Blur for the Nintendo Wii! Here’s Gary’s video game review.

Electronic Arts has been cranking out awesome SSX snowboarding games from the great north (Canada) for a while now but SSX Blur is their first for the wacky Nintendo Wii game system. Gary plugged it in and took to the snow-covered mountains for some boarding fun. Here’s the 411 on the game with his SSX Blur video game review!

SSX Blur – Snowboarding Basics

EA’s latest game lets you get your snowboarding groove on by waving your arms around like a nutcase! It also has a bunch of modes, from basic races to career mode, tournaments and even multiplayer so you and a friend can accidentally punch each other in the eye with a Wiimote. Whee! As you play you unlock more characters, outfits, snowboarding gear and even more tricks to pull.

SSX Blur – Tricks, Stunts and Fun!

Getting started is easy! The graphics look awesome and cartoony and the levels are high-speed madness that no real snowboarder could race down without breaking the sound barrier. The “Groove” meter is fun too. You pull tricks to power it up and, when it’s ready, you can unleash the supreme coolness of an Ubertrick to score some serious points.

SSX Blur – Spazz Attack

The snowboarding action of SSX Blur is awesome, until the controls go wonky and your boarder spazzes out. It happens when you’re pulling tricks, especially the Ubertricks! Suddenly, you’ll be flopping around like a snowboarding fish instead of pulling a sweet trick to impress your friends.

SSX Blur – Booyah or Boo?

SSX Blur makes it a huge rush to scream down the gorgeous mountain tracks, score some massive air and do tricks like a snowboarding ninja. It’s a solid dose of snowboarding fun, but it has some glitches that can turn your trick-ninja into a spazz so watch out.

SSX Blur Thumbs Up:

  • Easy to learn the controls.
  • Screamingly fast tracks!
  • Unleash crazy moves for huge points.
  • Awesome tunes.
  • SSX Blur Thumbs Down:

  • The controls can go all wonky in the tricks!
  • The slalom will kick your butt.
  • SSX Blur Game Rating: 4

SSX Blur is available for: Nintendo Wii.
