Lead Naruto and 26 of his ninja buddies on missions and multi- player battles in this new game for DS! We review it here.

The ninja mayhem of Shonen Jump's Naruto is hitting the Nintendo DS with the new Naruto: Ninja Council 3 video game! It takes the action of the hit anime TV show and puts the characters in your control, ready to challenge missions, form teams and more. But, is this Naruto game more spaz than ninja? Find out with Gary's Naruto game review!

Chakras and Combos!

This DS game lets you control Naruto and 26 of his friends and enemies in 49 missions. You pick your fave ninja for each mission and try to complete it by running, jumping, attacking and unleashing powerful jutsu moves with the touch pad. The missions let you unlock characters, then you can hook up with your friends for wireless, four-player, multiplayer ninja showdowns!

Teamwork, Multiplayer and Mayhem!

Playing as your fave ninja is fun, but getting to pick extra jutsu moves from the other ninja you've unlocked is like building a ninja team! The graphics are awesome too - they're all old-school 2D, but the characters look great and move really well.

Mission Failure!

This game is super-light on story, unless you're a Naruto fan you won't know who anybody is or what's going on. The attacks are all super close-range too, except the ranged attacks but the controls for them are unreliable. More power-ups would be cool too!

Hokage or Spaz?

Unleashing a ninja smackdown with the characters from the hit Naruto cartoon is a blast! It's lacking a story, so unless you know your Naruto trivia it's a bit confusing. But it's full of fun missions, lots of stuff to unlock, wicked jutsu attacks and an awesome multiplayer mode.

Thumbs Up:

  • Voices from the anime!
  • Unleash awesome jutsu attacks with the touch screen.
  • Cool graphics and lots of characters.
  • Multiplayer battles are a blast!
  • Thumbs Down:

  • It needs more power-ups
  • Super short-range attacks.
  • Game Rating: 4

    Available for: Nintendo DS.
