Hoops, Rims and Rhythms

Dec 27, 2006

So, you think you can play ball? Do you leave your friends gasping with your crossover dribble or your seeing-eye jump shots? Well, Hoop It Up and the Rhythm and Rim are two basketball tours which are heading your way now.

Both events are running this spring and summer and are sponsored by the NBA. Hoop it Up is a North American-wide 3 on 3 basketball tournament that's hitting 34 cities. So if you've got game, grab a couple of friends and sign up. It's open to anyone - guys and girls - over eight years old and it's a great chance to improve your game.

Hoop It Up is much more than a basketball tournament. It features a three point competition, the NBA 2-ball challenge, and everyone's favorite - the slam dunk competition.

To find out when Hoop It Up is arriving near you, head to www.hoopitup.com.

The Rhythm and Rims tour is coming to 14 cities in the United States. The R 'n R has an 18 wheel truck that opens up into a music and basketball theme park. It has a concert stage with rap and pop artists playing. There's basketball clinics going on all day and a slam dunk competition as well. There's even an arcade with the NBA's latest video games. You'll also get a chance to see how you measure up against life-size images of NBA players like Shaq and Kevin Garnett.

You can win prizes at the Rhythm and Rims event by entering the Courtside Quest. It's an internet field trip that teaches you how to surf the net and learn about your fave NBA and WNBA superstars at the same time. For more on the Quest and the Rhythm and Rims tour, head to their official site.

If you've been to either Hoop It Up or Rhythm and Rims, how it was.
