I bet a lot of you thought I wouldn't follow through with any of the plans I made in my last blog. I haven't been quite as ambitious as I would have liked, but I did start working on my proposal to present to the principal.

My mom's been helping me a bit, just making suggestions on what adults might like to hear. Like, even though we'd be helping the environment, my mom says that the school board is more likely to agree to my project if it will help them save money. I figure that over the course of a month, we'd collect about 20,000 bottles and cans. At five cents a bottle, we'd make like $1,000 a month!

After crunching those numbers, I can't imagine why we haven't been recycling all along. Think of all school dances, uniforms and field trips we could have paid for! Do your schools have recycling programs? Are you involved at all?

Since I've been spending so much time on this proposal, I haven't really had a chance to get down to the beach with Finn. He's been calling to invite me out surfing, but I just really want to get this done. I think I'll take an afternoon off though - Finn probably won't just keep waiting around for me.

Okay. If I want to go surfing and present this proposal this week, I better get to work! Have a great long weekend!

Peace Out,
Sindy
