yeah i read edgar allen poe stuff i loved "The Pit and the Pendulum" because the suspense was awesome!

i read this one really thick book by him, but i forgot the name

That's a classic~ My favorites are "The Raven" and "The Mask of the Red Death."

Oh! There was one really good one he did about a man that was supposed to have died, but was hypnotised and so couldn't move on to the "next world." I forget the name though; it was like "The Mysterious Case of" Someone or Another. I'll have to look it up.
