Enhanced CDs, CDs With Extra Goodies

Have you noticed that more artists are releasing enhanced CDs? What the heck is an enhanced CD? It's a regular music CD but it's got some extra stuff on the disc that you can only see with your computer. Some of the stuff includes special videos, games, pics and bonus tracks. Here's a look at some popular CDs with cool bonus features...

1

Britney Spears - Britney

If you throw Britney's latest self-titled CD into your CD-ROM drive you'll see an exclusive video performance of Overprotected which includes clips of her upcoming flick, Crossroads. It also has quick access to the Crossroads movie site, Britney's official site and Jive Records.

1

Destiny's Child - Survivor

Survivor includes a really cool live performance of Independent Women Part I from the 2001 Brit Awards.

1

No Doubt - Rock Steady

This enhanced CD has the video for Hey Baby, a No Doubt screen saver and a video interview on the making of Rock Steady. The interview includes footage of the band in the studio, hangin' in Jamaica and discussing the album. It's very cool and it's about 10 minutes long.

1

Usher - 8701

Usher's CD includes the video of U Remind Me so you can watch it over and over again! (Don't worry you can't burn a hole in your disc.) It also has a sexy photo gallery of Usher plus a video interview explaining the meaning of 8701.

Check out Kidzworld's Ultimate Usher contest and enter for a chance to win 5 Usher CD's and a DVD!

How do you know if a CD's got extra goodies on it? They aren't always marked (Destiny's Child's Survivor isn't) but a lot of them are marked "Enhanced CD" on the spine, on the back of the cover near the bottom or in the liner notes. But you might wanna just pop it in your CD-ROM drive and see what happens. You could be in for a nice surprise!
