Music Buzz #17, New Eminem CD Soon

1Eminem fans don't have to wait much longer for new material. He's almost finished production on his next CD, The Eminem Show with the help of his buddy, Dr. Dre. The CD is scheduled to drop in April 2002 but in the meantime you can hear part of the track Cleaning Out My Closet in the movie trailer for his upcoming flick, 8 Mile. The movie is set to hit theaters on July 12th (tentatively) and the soundtrack will be released on Eminem's own label, Shady Records, around that time.

1Alanis Morissette's returning to the spotlight with her new album, Under Rug Swept. The CD's scheduled for release on February 26th in the US and February 25th in Canada and other countries. The first single, Hands Clean has hit the radio and the video is playing on MTV and Much Music. For more on Alanis, click here.

1 While Destiny's Child is busy acting in flicks, working on solo records and collaborating on the next Destiny's Child album, they won't be leaving their fans without tunage. The group is releasing a remix CD entitled, This Is A Remix and it's scheduled to drop on March 12th. Michelle Williams' gospel album is slated for release on April 2nd.

1 Saturday, February 9th, the long-awaited NBA All-Star Read to Achieve Celebration TV special airs with guests Britney, Lil Bow Wow, Alicia Keys, Frankie Muniz and Carson Daly. The special, hosted by NBA Inside Stuff's Ahmad Rashad and Summer Sanders, airs on Saturday, February 9th at 11:00 AM ET on NBC, TNT, Nickelodeon, BET and NBA.com TV in the US and on Much Music in Canada. Elton John will perform Philadelphia Freedom as part of the intro to the 2002 NBA All-Star Game on February 10th. Elton will also perform two other songs during halftime.
