Celebrate Skateboarding: Emerica’s Wild In The Streets 2009

Feb 16, 2015

Location: Vancouver, B.C. (home of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games)

Attention all Kidzworld members and readers! If you’re a skateboarder in Vancouver then Emerica’s Wild In The Streets 2009 is one event you won’t wanna miss! Thousands of skateboarders are expected to participate in the skateboarding event, which is actually being held in multiple cities around the world.

Go Skateboarding Day: June 21

Go Skateboarding Day is held every year on June 21 by Emerica, a popular skate footwear and apparel brand. Wild in the Streets 2009 brings skateboarders together from all over Vancouver to benefit LeeSide, the underground DIY skatepark that Vancouver skateboarder and artist Lee Matasi envisioned and began creating before he died. Lee was shot and killed in a senseless act of violence in 2005, but lives on through LeeSide.

The large mass of skateboarders will skate a four-mile route through Vancouver with a few stops along the way, including scenic photo stops, water breaks and a giant BBQ and skate session at the end.

Wild In The Streets

Wild in the Streets is a global movement happening in over 25 countries and Vancouver is the lead location since the entire Emerica team will be in the city for the event to join the thousands of skateboarders from all over the world on their jaunt across Vancouver.
