Ke$ha Bio

Jul 10, 2018

Ke$ha was born on March 1, 1987. Her mom was a single mother and a singer/songwriter who taught her to sing and write songs. At 17, Ke$ha’s family was featured on Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's The Simple Life, giving Ke$ha some exposure.

Ke$ha was soon signed by Dr. Luke and Max Martin and moved to LA to pursue a music career. She survived by performing at small gigs and working as a waiter. She lived with her dad first, then moved in with her boyfriend.

A huge Prince fan, Ke$ha once snuck into her idol's house in Beverly Hills to meet and ask him to be her producer. When discovered inside the house by his bodyguards, she was thrown out, but not before she left her demo!

Between 2006 and 2009, Ke$ha started making appearances on TV and doing backup vocals for other artists. Her music was featured on The Hills and Degrassi: The Next Generation.

In 2009 Ke$ha got her big break when Flo Rida asked her to collaborate with him on his single Right Round. Despite the success of the song Ke$ha was broke. "It was number one in a bajillion countries and I didn't have enough money to buy myself a taco," she said.
