NHL Playoffs: No Doubts in Detroit

May 11, 2011

What the heck is going on in the Stanley Cup Playoffs? The Detroit Red Wings are the 2nd team this year to force a game seven after being down 0-3 in a Series. Detroit is delivering some doom for the San Jose Sharks to choke on tonight in a game 7 showdown.

Rare Comebacks Round Up

Is it just a coincidence that after almost 100 years of NHL hockey and one 8 teams have ever forced a game 7 after trailing 0-3 in a series... and now there have been 3 teams in the last year to do this impossible feat?

Last year the Philadelphia Flyers were down 0-3 to the Boston Bruins before they stormed back to knock out the Bruins advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Chicago Chokes

Now this year, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings have both come back from 0-3 deficits to force a game 7. Chicago was not so lucky and they lost their game 7 in overtime, but there is a strong sense that the Red Wings can't lose now that Pavel Datsyuk is at the peak of his game.
