America's Got Talent: Season 6, Episode 5 :: Seattle Auditions Part 2

Jul 10, 2018

This week, America’s Got Talent Season 7 gave Seattle a second chance to wow the judges. Episode 5 aired on June 14, 2011.

Strong Hot Water Packs

The talent in the second round of the Seattle auditions seemed to be the dirty leftovers of the first round. The show opened with a very rough start that left Piers Morgan more frustrated than usual. It began with a man who holds the world record for blowing up hot water packs. He says he can make three explode in just over a minute. But during his audition, he spent his entire 90 seconds trying and failing to blow up one stubborn pack.

Geechy Guy

This began a series of failures which didn’t end until an unassuming comedian known as Geechy Guy hit the stage. Before he began, it looked as though his performance was going to be another joke. But he proved that sometimes appearances can be deceiving. He dropped a series of funny one-liners that had the audience and two of the judges laughing. Of course, Piers and his cold heart found no humor in his audition at all.

The Best of the Night

Some other notable auditions were the Illumni Men’s Chorale, who put their own spin on Baby One More Time by Britney Spears, as well as The Art of Teknique, a male hip hop group made up of an 8-, 9-, and 10-year-old. While most kid performers earn their tickets to Las Vegas on cuteness alone, these boys proved that they were very deserving. They’re not just talented dancers compared to other kids, but compared to adult dancers as well.

Alaska

One of the worst performers of the day was Alaska, a cross-dressing dancer who thought his moves (which included arm flapping and head bobbing) were worth a million dollars. After receiving three no’s from the judges, Nick Cannon encouraged Alaska to teach the audience his moves.
