Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 for XBox 360 continues a very long tradition in the Dynasty Warriors series. Read our game review to see how well it honors that tradition!

Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 is the 40th game in the Warriors series from Namco Bandai and the third to feature characters and mobile suits from the Gundam anime series. For better or for worse, this game is very similar to previous games in the series.

The Dynasty Continues

Just like in other Dynasty Warrior games, Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 will have you moving on a giant map, beating up easy opponents until a slightly harder one appears. After beating up the harder opponent, you will conquer the field and proceed to the next one. Mission objectives will let you know what your ultimate goal is, but they usually will involve conquering certain fields or defeating a certain opponent.

While facing opponents that die very easily seemed a bit unrealistic in the traditional Dynasty Warrior games, it fits in the Gundam universe very well as the Gundams typically outclass normal mobile suits. Overall, the game is pretty easy as long as you keep an eye on your mini map. The missions, and even the boss battles, can get repetitive, especially as you play different pilots and storylines.

What's New?

Like in the previous Dynasty Warrior Gundam game, you can level up a pilot's skill and also find upgrades for your Gundam. You can customize the Gundam with special skills to fit your style of play. New for Gundam 3 are the inclusion of Gundams such as Death Scythe, Heavyarms, and six Gundams from the Gundam 00 series, as well as their pilots. The enemy AI for the game has been improved slightly, but don't expect anything amazing.

Online multiplayer and co-op alone can make this game worth getting, even if you have the previous games. There is also the new emergency dash move, partner strike tactics, chain explosions and catapults on maps to help you move around better. Overall, fans of the anime and game series will enjoy this title a lot.
