There are only a handful of new features in the new Mario Kart 7 game. Will it be enough to beat down the competition? Check out Kidzworlds game review and find out!

Mario Kart is back once again on a portable device! Now you can take the fun racing game on the go, play in 3D, and also challenge people all over the world using the online multiplayer. Even if you are new to Mario Kart, Mario Kart 7 is a lot of fun.

Ace of the Race

New to Mario Kart 7 is the ability to glide in the air and drive underwater. Just like Mario Kart DS, there are 32 race tracks in the game. Half of them are brand new while the other half are taken from previous Mario Kart games. However, even the older tracks have new tricks to discover thanks to your gliding and underwater driving abilities. You can customize your kart, wheels, and glider before the race to make a kart that suits your driving style and visual preference.

Roadblocks and Traffic Jams

Gone are the bikes from Mario Kart Wii, along with several characters such as Waluigi and the babies. Replacing them are new characters such as Queen Bee and Lakitu. However, you can still play as your own Mii characters. At the higher levels of Grand Prix mode, the constant attacks by blue shells and lighting bolts are still annoying. It also makes it difficult to end races with the maximum 10 coins. Unfortunately, you will need those coins to unlock new kart parts.

Overall, however, Mario Kart 7 is still super fun. There are extra modes, such as the balloon and coin games, and the online multiplayer is a big improvement over previous games in the series. 3D is awesome in this game and you can even go into first person mode and use motion controls!
