2012 Olympic Medal Count

Aug 14, 2012

The 2012 London Summer Olympics are closed and it’s a great time to tally up the results in gold, silver, and bronze. Here is Kidzworld’s Olympic Medal Count

USA OK

The total of 46 gold medals was the highest for the U.S. in an Olympics on foreign soil. OK OK OK, we get the picture… the Americans love their sports. They’ve received the most medals 5 Olympics in a row. We should have an Olympics without the USA to see who else can win some medals.

World Domination

We have to consider that the USA and China have 2 of the biggest populations in the World. If you were to give a prize for the country that received the most medals in relation to their population (per capita), Great Britain would have won!

The Lonely Gold

For the Canadians… well Oh Canada was only played once for the one gold medal on the trampoline. But winning only one gold medal is kind of nice for that one person… Rosie MacLennan, Canada’s Golden Girl!!!

Yin Yang Bang!!!

South Korea was the biggest surprise of the Olympics this year. They ranked 4th in Gold medals and climbed in front of powerhouse countries like Russia and Germany.

Oogie Oogie Ugh...

Apparently the biggest losers of the Olympics were the Australians. The speedy Kangaroos from down under were acting more like lazy Koala Bears as they only won 7 gold medals when they usually win abut 15.
