Gossip Girl: Season 6, Episode 10 :: New York, I Love You XOXO

Dec 18, 2012

This week on Gossip Girl (Season 6, Episode 10), the identity of Gossip Girl is revealed in this momentous series finale. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “New York, I Love You XOXO,” which aired on December 17, 2012, to discover what you missed.

Gossip Girl's Identity

After 6 amazing seasons that put so many new stars on the map, Gossip Girl concludes their series with a shocking revelation. While so many people - including the show's stars - believed that GG was Dorota, her true identity was even more obvious than that: Lonely Boy. Dan Humphrey just wanted to fit in on the Upper East Side, and in order to become one of them, he needed to be talked about. Not only did he throw his friends under the bus, but he gossiped a lot about himself as well. After all, there's no such thing as bad publicity...right?

The Episode

The season finale spanned two hours: the first half consisted of interviews with the cast and crew, and snippets of the show's memorable moments; and the second half was the final episode. In it, Chuck and Blair go into hiding after Bart Bass's death. His Uncle Jack returns to help, informing them that if they got married, Blair wouldn't have to testify against Chuck. So, with their closest friends assembled, they have a quickie wedding, after which the cops arrive to take the new husband and wife in for questioning. Luckily, there was no proof to suggest fowl play, so both were let go.

The Epilogue

The episode concluded with a short epilogue set five years in the future. Blair and Chuck have a son named Henry, Rufus is in a new relationship, Lily and William are back together, and most importantly, Dan and Serena are getting married. Despite all the blackmail, double-crossing, competition, drugs and swanky galas we've witnessed over the past six years, the show ended happily with a simple wedding ceremony. It was the perfect ending to an epic show.

New York Is Here To Stay

Gossip Girl may be over, but that doesn't mean our glimpse into the Manhattan lifestyle has to end. On January 14, The Carrie Diaries premieres, and you can catch the episode recaps here, so be sure to check back in the New Year!
