Willa Holland is an actress and model that may look familiar to you if you’ve been watching The CW’s new comic book turned action show Arrow, she plays Thea Queen, the younger sister of playboy-by-day, vigilante-by-night Oliver Queen. Find out more about her in her Kidzworld Bio!

Los Angeles to London

Willa Joanna Chance Holland was born June 18th, 1991 in Los Angeles to parents who were both already in the biz. Her father Kieth Holland is a cinematographer and her mother Darnell Gregorio-De Palma is an actress. Her step father is director Brian De Palma. She has two sisters, Piper and Brianna. Despite being born in L.A. Willa actually spent her early childhood in Chelsea, London.

Model Child

Willa spent a summer in The Hamptons with her family, and one day ended up at director Stephen Spielberg’s home, where he convinced her mother that she had a promising career in the limelight: “You’ve got to put her in front of the camera!” Her mother took the advice and after the summer signed Willa up with the Ford Modelling Agency and also a theatrical talent agency. Willa booked a spot right away for Burberry, and continued to get spots in commercials, magazines, and more.

TV Queen

Willa first thought she might make her way on to the small screen with a part on the show The Inside, but when that didn’t work out she landed a role on one of fave TV shows, The O.C.! She played Marissa Cooper’s younger sister Kaitlin in Season 3 and 4. She also appeared on the covers of Teen 18, Teen Vogue and inside Cosmogirl! In 2007 she won the role of an aspiring model in the indie movie Garden Party where she received positive reviews from critics. Following that she landed a role on several episodes of the hit teen drama Gossip Girl as a rebellious 16-year-old. Willa’s big break came recently when she landed the role of Thea Queen, the younger sister of millionaire bad boy Oliver Queen (who also doubles as vigilante The Green Arrow) on The CW’s newest comic book turned action drama Arrow.
