Road Between

Lucy Hale has risen to fame in the last few years as Aria on ABC's Pretty Little Liars, but what many fans of the show might not know is that Lucy was a singer first - so hold your horses if you're quick to judge an actress switching sides and trying out music. Born and bred in Memphis, 24-year-old Lucy Hale has been been singing since she was a kid, and originally grabbed the spotlight as a 14-year-old contestant on the American Idol spin-off American Juniors. After winning the competition she and her Mom packed their bags and headed to the L.A. to jumpstart her music career, but TV came knocking first and she's been a staple on PLL ever since, hiding her incredible voice.

Lucy's debut album has clearly been close to her heart for a long time. "A lot of people don't know Lucy the person," she confessed to Billboard in a recent interview. "They just know me from characters I played. I think after listening to the album, they'll have a clearer idea of what kind of girl I am. It's really real." There's no denying that she has some serious country chops, and her Memphis roots really show through! The album is bursting with catchy country songs about love gained, lovve lost, and the simple pleasures in life, she truly comes across as a Southern girl who'd like nothing more than to kick back on the porch with her guitar. It also shows the sassier side of Lucy, which PLL fans don't see a lot of when she's playing Aria. The first track and single off the album "You Sound Good to Me," is a standout, showcasing her energy and voice perfectly. The end track "Just Another Song," which Lucy co-wrote is another standout on the album, as well as the sweet but empowering title track. Definitely worth a listen - especially on a sunny summer day. We love it Lucy!
