Sep 07, 2017

Looking to plan the perfect Sweet 16 tailored to your personality without breaking the bank? Look no further.

Theme

Your theme can be an all-out party theme, like candy, your favorite sport, team or activity or your favorite vacation destination. Some popular ideas are the beach, Hawaiian luau, Paris, art, basketball or skiing, You can also pick a color scheme to create a theme. Polka dots, neon colors, black and white or your favorite color pairing. The theme can be reflected in the invitations, table centerpieces, tablecloths and party favors. If you'll be serving on disposable plates, you can include themed paper goods as well.

Invitations

Find out how many people you're allowed to invite. You can create an online invitation or print a more formal one. Depending on how crafty you are and how much money you have to spend, you can create your own online design and logo or use one of the thousands of designs already available online;. You can print them yourself or have them printed. Of course, the least expensive option is a free online invitation!

Send out invitations 6-8 weeks before your party and set a RSVP by date with 3-4 weeks to spare so you can chase down the people who don't respond in time

Decorations

Decorating for a party can be overwhelming but it's easy if you break it down into small jobs. Centerpieces are a great way to dress a party up! Table centerpieces don't have to be expensive or fancy, but they do have to stand out. Traditional centerpieces are made from helium filled balloons, flowers or cardboard cutouts that reflect the theme. You can think outside the box and visit your local dollar store for inexpensive glass vases you can fill with translucent colored items like marbles or sea glass, then drop in electric tea lights for a way to brighten up the table, fill the room with color and instantly make your space look like a party!

Most importantly have fun!
