With all this free time, you might be wondering how to best spend it. There are lots of ways to celebrate the holiday season, and you can decide what activities appeal to you. Regardless, you should enjoy your holiday and do things that make you happy. Here are 12 suggestions for holiday fun, and a little inspiration on how to spend the holidays.

1. Friends and Family Time

This is a great opportunity to catch up with family that lives out of town or your cousins who you never see and live far away. Christmas is about being together and celebrating love and generosity. Take this time to spend time with your close friends and family. It’s also a nice time to tell them how you feel about them. It doesn’t have to be a gift, it can be a card or even a kind word.

2. Play Games with Family and Friends

Playing board games is a great way to get the family together. This will get people getting loud, screaming and altogether having a good time. Games are a good way to strike up a friendly competition with family, and it’s a great way to include a lot of people. Tired of the typical board game? Use your phone. There are tons of great game apps that you can download.

3. Christmas Crafts

Help decorate the house by making trees, angels, and elves. There are over 100 Christmas crafts that you can partake in. Whether it’s making your own Santa Clause or making a bunch of beautiful snowflakes, the possibilities are endless. Crafts can be whatever works for you. For some, this involves building a gingerbread house. For others it’s stringing together popcorn for the tree. Crafts can also make for great gifts. You can make your presents and add that personal touch.

There are lots of treats to be had at this time. With a grown-up, or on your own, if you’re old enough, bake up some treats for the holiday season. You could even do gingerbread man and ice sugar cookies to look absolutely beautiful.

Wear red and green. On Christmas, show your holiday spirit. Put on a Santa’s hat. Whatever it may be, try to embrace the holiday as much as you can.

11. Check Out Lights

It’s always great to check out the houses that really put in an effort. Get your parents to take you around to all the nice houses. 12. Shop

If you plan on buying gifts now is the time. Some of you might be the type to buy gifts months in advance, but many people are last minute. Try to get there before Christmas Eve, or as early as possible. Things sell out really fast, and if your looking for a popular toy, you want to start looking now.

Clearly, there is a lot to do during the holiday season. This is just a teaser, there are so many other things you could do. Like go skiing with your family, or go on a vacation to someplace sunny. Christmas isn’t where you spend it, it's about the people you are with and the memories that you will make together to last a lifetime.
