About the Ride:

The attraction was created and produced by DreamWorks Animation and Universal Creative. “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” adds a theme park chapter to the tales we love. Inviting you along to the Emperor’s Great Feast of Heroes, we join Dragon Warrior Po as he takes on a mission that of course like all his quests take some wild turns with a hint of danger. But are we really worried? Through the power of teamwork and friendship, guests help Po deliver a precious Liquid of Limitless Power to the palace through challenges that include raging rapids, river pirates, awesome magic and of course-- Kung Fu.

This cutting-edge tech is what makes this unique to the ride which will create a multi-sensory experience while inside. The innovative team at Universal Creative will be implementing this technique in never before seen ways to fully engulf park attendees in dynamic scenes within the interiors of the theater that will maximize the space while crafting a new way to experience beloved worlds within. With seven Christie 4K Boxer Cinema Projectors and 360 degree surround sound audio, sweeping physical effects from water to wind guests will be able to participate in entertainment in ways never experienced before.

Once inside, the newly redesigned space which is complete with new ultra-plush, fully articulated seats that will not including pivot and swivel motions in tandem along with the 180-degree action of the attraction’s adventure. We’re excited to see the details and mapping around us that will put us right in the journey of one of our favorite animated characters.

New Areas to Explore:

The area that holds the DreamWorks theater also got a new redesign during its reconstruction inspired by Mission revival architecture that harkens back to the Golden Age of Hollywood’s Art Deco period of the 1920s. Cool details of the era are given nods to with a box office ticket seller booth that’s just like the ones from that time period and even has an usher who may have fallen asleep on the job. As you make your way around, there’s a beautiful outdoor garden that lines the queue to get on the ride and lots of movie memorabilia that includes posters of the films created by DreamWorks Animation. Inside the lobby, the studio celebrates its legacy by having a selection of over 20 award statuettes on display.  Golden Globe, Emmy, People’s Choice, Critic’s Choice, National Board of Review and Annie awards that DreamWorks Animation has brought home from 2008 to 2015.  There will also be a collection of original sculpted maquettes of the “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” characters in displays within and cool artifacts that represent the magical powers that Po brought back from the Spirit Realm.
