Celebrity Recap - February 2003 (pg. 2)

Celebrities who have died, TV cancellations, and more...

Deaths

On February 26, 2003, The UPN Network officially announced that the hit TV Show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has been cancelled. The last episode is set to air May 20, 2003. Buffy... err... Sarah Michelle Gellar has decided not to renew her contract and will concentrate on movie roles (like her turn as Daphne in the 2002 release, Scooby-Doo.) Rumors had circulated that Eliza Dushku (Faith,) would spin the series off into her own Slayer show, however it's recently been announced that Eliza Dushku has signed on to do a completely different show next season on Fox. Buffy-lovers should keep their hopes up, though. According to a statement by 20th Century Fox and UPN, "Discussions regarding the future of the Buffy franchise and a possible spinoff are ongoing." Keep your stakes crossed, Scooby members!

Break-Ups

It seems like it was over before it began... Kelly Osbourne and The Used lead singer, Bert McCracken, have broken up. It seems Bert was the dumper and Kelly, the dumpee. Bert has been quoted as saying, "I did it over the phone... She's the most important girlfriend I've ever had. We're best friends. It was just always so pleasant when she was around. And it smelled better. I've been down in the dumps. I want to be with her, but I just can't. I don't want to date other girls. I'm just not ready for a relationship, period, let alone a huge, public relationship. I just hope someday I can maybe be with someone as good and perfect as she is." Awww......
