Taryn Manning shifts gears - and careers - from actress to singer as she and brother Kellin release their first CD, Booomkatalog One. Does Boomkat kick it? Find out here!

I know what you're thinking - another actress who thinks she can sing. Well, yeah, you're right - but don't hold it against Taryn Manning or you may be missing the best tunes you've heard in a long time. Taryn Manning has had unique roles in flicks like Crossroads (with Britney Spears,) and 8 Mile (with Eminem.) And, just like her unique movie roles, the music created by Boomkat is not typical.

Boomkatalog One:

It's hard to give Taryn and Kellin Manning's music a category. If ya put electronica, hip hop and pop in a blender, you'd have Boomkatalog One - Boomkat's first CD. Tracks like The Wreckoning, Daydreamin' and CrazyLove are like candy for your brain. The beats are smooth, funky and fun. The words are lightweight though, but if you're into music for the music, and not for the deep, brooding lyrics, you'll dig it. Also, it's pretty cool to hear someone going on about all the stuff they have crazy love for, instead of crazy hate, ya know? The slower tracks, like Wastin' My Time, have a retro feel to them which makes them different from the usual slobby love songs you hear these days. Less drama - more groovin'.

If you're looking for something new, fresh and good - Boomkatalog One is worth your allowance.
