1Hey Coach,
I race motorcross and I also run track. Will running track help me become a better motocross rider?
Lucky8

Hey Lucky8,
You're motocross crosstraining is on the right track. A rider's fitness level can make the difference between winning or losing a long, hard race. Obviously, riding your dirtbike is the best form of practice for a race. However, most professional riders train in other sports, in addition to being on the track every day. If you aren't able to make it to a motocross track every day, crosstraining with other sports like, running, swimming, cycling or wakeboarding will help increase your cardiovascular endurance and overall fitness level. Crosstraining with a variety of sports will also prevent you from becoming bored with one activity and keep you mentally sharp.

Keep in mind peeps, the Kidzworld Coach isn't a doctor or a professional athlete or anything like that. He's just a dude who digs sports, plays 'em and knows a lot about 'em. You should always talk to your 'rents, a doctor or your school gym teacher before starting a new sport or a new exercise.
