Dec 27, 2006

This cheat street is a double-dose of game cheats for the Pokemon Emerald Gameboy Advance video game. Kidzworld member Pipsquek wants to know how to climb stuff and Dragoon X (plus a bunch of other members) have been and asking how to catch the rare Pokemon Mew. Well, here's the game cheats you need, straight from Cheat Street!

Climbing Walls in Pokemon Emerald for the GBA

There's a trick to climbing hills in Pokemon Emerald and it isn't a TM or HM that does it. If you want to climb things, you need to get a Mach Bike from Mauville City. Once you make it to Mauville City all you have to do is find the bike store, here's a hint - it's the one by all the bikes. Then go in and talk to the owner, he'll give you a free bike. You can choose the Acro Bike, which is great for doing tricks and jumping, or the Mach Bike that can climb hills.

Pokemon Emerald Cheat - Finding Mew

Pokemon Mew is living out on the lost Faraway Island. The problem is, the only way to find it is with an Old Sea Chart and there are only two ways to get one of those.

  • Go to a Nintendo Special Event - Yeah, right. There hasn't been one of these since 2004. If you know someone who got an Old Sea Chart at a Nintendo Special Event you can get one by Merging Records with them though.
  • Cheat with a Gameshark - To warp to Faraway Island, hold down the L button and enter this cheat code:

Once you've battled Mew, you can warp back to Mauville City with this code:

What is a Gameshark and how can I get one?

A Gameshark is an electronic device you can plug into your GBA. Then you can use it to enter cheat codes to do all kinds of crazy stuff to your fave games. You can get them from stores that sell video games, you can check out some info on them here:

Pokemon Emerald Cheat: Battling Mew

So, you've made it to Mew, congrats! Now, how do you battle this rare Pokemon without getting your butt kicked? Well, Mew is a Psychic Pokemon. So, if you check our Pokemon Strength/Weakness chart, you'll see that Bug, Ghost and Dark Pokemon can cause it heinous damage. Also, Dark Pokemon are immune to its Psychic attacks. If you still have a Poochyena from the early stages in the game, level it up and get ready for a battle!
