All About Cupid

Jan 29, 2018

Cupid makes the world a much more loving place. He's hard at work throughout the whole year, but his busiest day falls on Valentine's Day. Learn more about this holiday dude right here!

The Matchmaker Works His Magic

Cupid, who also goes by the name Eros, may be the god of love but he looks more like a baby! With a rosy face and chubby body, he's the most famous Valentine's symbol around and is popular in books, poems and art. He has white wings and is armed with a golden bow and arrows, which signify love and desire. When he shoots 'em at people, they fall truly, madly, deeply in love! In Classic mythology Cupid is the son of the Roman Goddess of Love, Venus. As her son he obviously has some related talents, he is the God of affection and attraction (basically cuddles and crushes, he's definitely a fun guy to hang with!)

The Highs of the Job

There's nothing better than falling in love and that's why Cupid has one of the best jobs in the world! Although love is sweet and wonderful, it can also be cheesier than cheddar, but Cupid knows how to keep things fun by pullin' a ton of pranks! Sometimes, he'll even fire his arrows at two strangers who aren't interested in each other and make 'em fall head over heels!

The Lows of the Job

Cupid's job can suck cuz he has to shoot people through the heart with his arrow - that's why love hurts sometimes! On top of that, he's so busy helping other people fall in love that he doesn't have time for a girlfriend. But he never gets sad or lonely cuz he's always surrounded by - or hovering around - happy people!

How Much $$$ Does Cupid Make?

Cupid doesn't get paid - at least not with cash. In fact, he doesn't care about the green stuff cuz he's rewarded when people fall in love and spread their happiness to others. In this cherub's eyes, money doesn't make the world go 'round - love does!
