We review the comic adventures of The Ultimates in the Ultimate Avengers DVD movie!

Marvel's most powerful superhero team, The Avengers, first appeared in The Ultimates comic books - but now you can catch these costumed heroes battling against super-powered bad guys in their latest cartoon action flicks. Check out Kidzworld's reviews of The Ultimate Avengers and The Ultimate Avengers 2 DVDs!

The Ultimate Avengers DVD - From Comic Book to Small Screen

Based on The Ultimates comics, this movie has Nick Fury thaw out Captain America and put him in charge of a superhero team with Thor, Hulk, Giant Man, Wasp and Iron Man on board to put a heavy-duty smackdown on the forces of evil. The best part about The Ultimate Avengers movie is that you don't need a PhD in comics to know what's going on! If you've read the comic though, the movie feels pretty stupid, especially Thor who goes from a political radical and environmentalist in the comic, to a beer-swilling goof in the movie.

The Ultimate Avengers 2 DVD - Rise of the Panther

Just when you thought The Avengers had sorted out their teamwork problems and battled all the aliens there were to battle, a new evil arises that requires these superheroes' attention. Deep in the African jungles, the nation of Wakanda is under attack by extra-terrestrial enemies! Prince T'Challa is ready to stand up for his people, but realizes he won't be able to do it alone - so he calls in Captain America and gang to lend a hand. This second DVD is pack with action, but not a really great story. Much of what you'll find in Rise of the Panther is what you saw in the first Ultimate Avengers DVD. There are some cool extras like a What Avenger Are You? interactive game, gag reel and previews of upcoming Marvel animated movies.
