Open Season: GC, PC, PS2, Xbox & Xbox 360 Game Review

Dec 27, 2006

The crazy critters from Open Season are kickin' human butt in the computer animated Open Season movie, and you can join the fun as Boog the grizzly bear or Elliot the one-horned mule deer in the Open Season video game for DS, Gamecube, GB, PC, PSP, PS2, Xbox and Xbox 360! Gary went wild with the peeps from the movie and here's his game review.

Open Season - Go Wild with Boog and Elliot!

Open Season lets you play along with the comedy and adventure of the computer-animated Open Season movie as Boog and Elliot. They need your help to team up with Forest Ranger Beth and the animals to pull pranks on the evil Shaw and the rest of the hunters in this action/adventure game.

Open Season - Pranks and Animal Antics

There isn't a lot that's hot in this game. There are a few different kinds of levels, multiplayer mini-games, some fun prank action and Boog's stuffed bear Mr. Dinkleman! But it's really low on good gaming action.

Open Season - Game Goofs and Problems

Whoever put this game together needs a Boog-sized detention! It takes forever to load the levels, and they're not just short - they're a snore. The graphics aren't that hot either, the characters look good but they don't move very well.

Open Season - a Blast or a Bomb?

This game is a dud! It's a super cheap movie-based game that's about as much fun as having a grizzly chew your toes off. Without even using ketchup! It isn't even worth renting, skip it and save up for a copy of LEGO Star Wars II instead.

Open Season Thumbs Up:

  • It's only $30 US.
  • It won't delete your saved games.
  • Open Season Thumbs Down:

  • Long load times.
  • Crummy graphics.
  • The levels are short and boring!
  • Hoo Hoo bars? Animals get sick if they eat junk food!
  • Open Season Game Rating:

    Open Season is available for:
