Pierre-Luc Gagnon - Growing Up

Growing up in Canada, Pierre fell in love with skateboarding at a young age. He received his first skateboard as a birthday present when he turned eight years old. His father built an eight-foot ramp in their backyard and bought a local skatepark so Pierre could work on his jumps. Under the influence of his father, Pierre worked hard and developed his talents. Pierre turned pro when he was 16, and within a year, he was competing in the X Games.

Pierre-Luc Gagnon - A Star is Born

Pierre has earned a reputation over the last decade for being one of the most creative skateboarder's out there. His aerial tricks have given him a lot of notoriety. His best year was in 2002 when he was ranked number two in the world and finished in the top three in almost every competition he entered. That year he also won the Vert and Vert Best Trick at the 2002 Summer X Games. In 2005, he took first in the vert competitions at the LG Action Sports Competition in Munich and Paris. Pierre has also appeared in a number of skateboarding videos which display some of his best and most daring moves.

Pierre-Luc Gagnon - The Future

Pierre has spent the last few years recovering from injuries. In 2006 he fractured his patella during a practice. He was required to have surgery on his knee as well as on his quadricep. Pierre is back to full strength now, so look for him to earn his place on the podium in 2007!
