Kelly Clarkson - My December

It's official: Kelly Clarkson's well-publicized battle with her label for creative control on My December has paid off. Kelly's third album has finally freed her from the American Idol stigma and legitimized her hard fought-for rocker girl image. There are some hits and some misses on Kelly's new album, but the main thing is that she took the risk to make them both. And that's pretty rock and roll.

Kelly Clarkson - My December Fun Facts

  • The first single from the album, Never Again, is rumored to be about Kelly's break-up with former Evanescence keyboard player David Hodges.
  • Producer Clive Davis is said to have offered Kelly $10 million to remove five songs from My December, which he deemed "too negative", and replace them with radio friendly songs. Kelly refused.
  • Kelly fired her manager over a disagreement about the direction My December should take.

Hannah Montana 2 - Meet Miley Cyrus

Whether Miley Cyrus is singing as herself or as her alter-ego Hannah Montana, this two-disc album keeps the party rocking. Perhaps a little too hard. Heavy handed studio effects distract from Miley/Hannah's vocals (are we supposed to be able to tell them apart?), and lead many of the songs to sound too much alike. If you liked the first album, you'll probably be down with this one. But don't expect any surprises; this is paint-by-number Hannah Montana.

Hannah Montana 2 - Meet Miley Cyrus Fun Facts

  • Miley Cyrus will tour the US to promote this album beginning in October 2007.
  • The song I Miss You was written for Miley's grandfather, Ron Cyrus, who died in 2006.
  • Nobody's Perfect is the first single from Hannah Montana 2. Miley's sister plays the guitar in the music video for the song.
