Josh Hartnett got into acting after an injury kept him off the high school football team. Josh Hartnett's aunt encouraged him to audition for the school play and he landed the lead role.

Josh Hartnett started out in LA snagging commercials and roles in small plays. Luckily, it wasn't too long before Josh Hartnett landed the role of John Strode in the screaming movie hit, Halloween H2O: Twenty Years Later. After that Josh Hartnett landed some typical cute boy roles in flicks like The Faculty and Here on Earth. It was Josh Hartnett's part in the indie film, The Virgin Suicides, that really made people realize he was more than just a pretty face. Josh Hartnett's biggest hits to-date have been the epic Pearl Harbor (starring Ben Affleck), 40 Days & 40 Nights and Hollywood Homicide (co-starring Harrison Ford). In 2006 he takes on lead roles in Lucky Number Slevin and The Black Dhalia.
