UK mix masters Prodigy are back with another CD entitled The Experience Expanded: Remixes & B-Sides. The two-disc CD set includes the previously released 1992's The Prodigy Experience and the second disc is made up of Experience remixes and B-sides.

The Experience Expanded is the first release since 1999's Prodigy Present the Dirtchamber Sessions Volume One. I was excited to discover another release from Prodigy but was disappointed it wasn't new stuff but previously released material and remixes instead.

Disc one, Experience, does have a few standout tunes on it - explosive energy tracks like Charly, Everybody In The Place and Weather Experience - songs you can't help but move to. The disc also includes Fire, a song with a cool reggaeish groove. However, some of the vocal loops are kinda annoying - they sound like a little kid on a sugar-high.

On the flip side, disc two Expanded, has mix versions of songs from disc one and other tracks that are extended versions or remixed. The remix versions of Prodigy's Weather Experience and Out of Space are pretty cool. And G-Force, complete with its bubble popping beats gets the adrenaline pumping. If you're a hard core Prodigy fan I'd pick up a copy (of course you probably already have one of the discs) for the remixes, but if you're looking to discover the Prodigy more in-depth I would check out some of their other CDs instead.
