Help Prince Caspian and the Pevensie kids save Narnia in this new DS RPG. Plus, try out the new DGamer online chat! We review it.

Narnia is back with the new Prince Caspian movie and Disney has a new video game too! The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian lets you join the prince and the Pevensie kids in the battle to stop King Miraz and his Telmarines. It doesn't just follow the story of the movie though, it's also the first game with Disney's new DGamer online chat built-in. Here's the scoop with our Narnia game review.

Welcome Back to Narnia!

The story is the same as the books and movie, but you get to control the heroes! Whether it's Caspian fleeing from King Miraz, or the Pevensie kids back in Narnia, it's up to you to help them out. You guide them through landscapes in search of warriors to help battle the Telmarines. Along the way you battle wolves, ogres and more - all by using the touch screen to use items, select your warriors and complete different minigames to unleash attacks.

Pets, Allies and Unlocking Awards

This game is full of friends! From Reepicheep the brave mouse warrior, to Trufflehunter the badger, centaurs, giants and even three different pets you can unlock, there are a lot of characters to play with. You can even play as two villains for a little bit! The battle mode minigames are a great way to spice up combat - making you trace patterns to power-up attacks. Not only that, the new DGamer online kids chat is great, it's even as safe and secure as the Kidzworld chat!

Filthy Villains and Clumsy Controls

Sadly, the touch screen controls in battle are really clumsy when it comes to selecting your warriors and the enemy you want to attack. Since battles are fast, you can miss attacks and get clobbered simply because you can't select the right character. Argh!

Worth Going Back to Narnia?

Taking the trip back with Prince Caspian and this DS game is a lot of fun. There's a good chunk of adventure, tons of characters to control, lots to unlock and the action is decent. Sloppy controls dial the fun-factor down a notch, but otherwise it's a great game.

Thumbs Up:

  • 18 characters to control!
  • Each attack is a touch-screen minigame.
  • Join DGamer and chat online - for free!
  • Unlock DGamer rewards by kicking butt.

Thumbs Down:

  • The touch-screen battle controls are clumsy.
  • DGamer "True Friend" codes only last 24 hours!

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Game Rating: 4
