Kidzworld chatted it up with pop group Jump5 who recently played their hit, God Bless The USA at The White House. Meet Libby, Lesley, Brittany, Brandon and Chris and hear what they have to say about President Bush, peer pressure, being pop stars and what they look for in a guy or girl.

Lesley Moore (15)
Brittany Hargest (13)
Brandon Hargest (14)
Chris Fedun (16)

1

The response to your song, God Bless The USA, has been really great. What was it like to visit and perform at The White House?

Jump5: It was the most memorable night of our lives so far. We met President Bush and his wife and they were pretty amazing. They're humble and welcoming.

1

What inspired each of you to become singers?

Libby: My mom did, she is a singer. When I was young I would go to the studio with her. I started right after I began to talk and basically learned to sing from her.
Lesley: I started dancing when I was four. Brittany was in my dance group and there were some older kids, I really looked up to them. I wanted to sing like they did so I started taking vocal lessons.
Brittany: I wanted to sing when I was dancing and I would always sing. My mom thought I should learn the correct way to sing so she put me in vocal lessons.
Brandon: I started singing because of Brit (his sister.) I would have to wait with mom when she took her lessons, so I figured I might as well take some lessons too and not just sit in the waiting area.
Chris: There were always shows at my school and they would ask us to sing, so I got into that. And I had other influences, older kids, that helped me get into it.

1

For people who aren't familiar with Jump5 - who could you guys be compared to?

Libby: A-Teens because our music sounds similar and it's a guy-girl group.
Lesley: Dreamstreet are all guys but they have similar music and dance a lot on stage. We just finished a tour with them.

1

Which song on your debut CD, Jump5, is the strongest?

Lesley: God Bless The USA is the most meaningful song and it affects the most people in our audience.
Brittany: I think Wish That I Could Read Your Mind is a cool song because we always wonder what people are thinking about us.
Brandon: Change A Heart, Change The World and God Bless The USA are good cuz of their theme but my favorite to perform is Spinnin' Around.

1

What's the neatest present you've ever received from a fan?

Lesley: Around Valentine's Day, one of our fans brought us each a red and white teddy bear and we also got a book some fans put together for us.

1

What's your favorite TV show?

Lesley: Lindsey McGuire on Disney, So Little Time and my fave show in the whole wide world is Friends.
Brandon: I watch TV a lot but I don't have one favorite TV show. One I never miss is

Friends.

1

Aside from being musicians, part of your goal is to be role models for kidz. What issues do you think kidz are faced with today?

Libby: Peer pressure. We aren't in public or private schools right now but it's something we had to deal with. We want everybody to know that they can be themselves.
Lesley: The ways you're supposed to dress. We want to be clean cut and dress the way we want to dress, not sexy and stuff. Some people feel they can't dress the way they want.
Brittany: At my old school, trying to follow the popular kids was a problem. You don't always have to do that. You can try to be yourself.
Chris: I think that one of biggest problems with kids is being pressured into being something you're not.
Lesley: I went to public school and a lot of people are pressured to have sex. It is a problem with kids.

1

Who would you love to sing with?

Jump5: *NSYNC - We'd love to go to the upcoming tour.

1

You guys have been doing a lot of touring. What's the best and worst part of being on the road?

Jump5: We love to be on stage, perform and meet people. The bus is the coolest too. It's like you get out of the show and walk to your house that is in the parking lot. You've got everything in the bus, couches, comfy bunks, video games and TVs. The worst thing is waking up early.

1

If you could meet anyone in the world, who would you like to meet?

Libby: Josh Hartnett, Heath Ledger.
Lesley: The cast of Friends. Any cute actors.
Brittany: Freddie Prinze Jr.
Brandon: Sarah Michelle Gellar, definitely. Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Chris: I want to meet *NSYNC.

1

Does anyone have a boyfriend or girlfriend?

Libby: Sadly, but no.
Lesley: I like boys. You know how it is, I'm boy crazy. I just love 'em.
Brittany: I love boys! Any cute boys send letters to Brittany!
Chris: I have a girlfriend.

1

What do you look for in a guy/girl?

Libby: Personality.
Lesley: I'm boy crazy. I like hot guys but with a personality.
Brittany: Everyone says nice personality and I do look for personality but someone who makes me laugh too.
Brandon: Someone that is fun to talk to and really nice with a great personality.
Chris: A really nice personality.

1

What's your fave thing to do when you're not working?

Libby: Being with my friends from my old school.
Brandon: Video games.

Kidzworld had a blast chatting with Jump5! They're a great group of kidz and Kidzworld can't wait to watch their career sky rocket. They've been dancing and singing since they were little and it's obvious their hard work and dedication is paying off.

1 Jump5 signed off with a special message to our Kidzworld members, "Be yourself, have fun with whatever you are doing and don't try to be something you are not. Don't take everything so seriously."
