Watch your toys come to life in Playmobil: Knights! Swordfights and dragon abound, but how well does it all translate to the DS?

Before graduating to Lego and other things, there were the Playmobil toys. In Playmobil: Knights, you get to see the toys animated to tell an epic story of a young farmboy's quest to save the kingdom from an evil magician.

Radish Spam and Flimflam

In Playmobil: Knights, you take on the character of a radish farmer who dreams about being a hero. Luckily, he get a chance to turn his dream into reality when the evil magician Flimflam captures all of the King's knights and sends out his own dark knights to terrorize the kingdom. Only you can save everybody by retreiving the Magical Sword of Legends and defeating Flimflam.

Play and Mobility

The game is essentially a side scrolling action adventure game. As Brian the radish farmer, you can jump and fight your way across levels that are mainly 3D graphics in a 2D world. There are items to collect along the way and evil knights to beat up as well. You can find new weapons, magical spells, and even dragons to help you on your quest and can upgrade your weapons and armor.

The five dragons that you befriend on your journey can be upgraded as well with various equipment. You can use these dragons to fly across the world and to fight evil dragons. To earn money of all of these things, there are over 90 quests and missions that you can complete.

There are also five different mini-games that you can use to earn money and fame. These easy to pick up and play games are great when traveling, as you can pick up and play your game on the DS and stop any time.

Not Quite the Stuff of Legends

Overall, Playmobil is a pretty easy game, designed for younger kids who like Playmobil and other similar toys. The game is simple, but the graphics are pretty good and the story is funny and interesting.
