America’s Got Talent: Season 6, Episode 11 :: Las Vegas Week

Jul 10, 2018

This week on America’s Got Talent Season 6, over 100 talented acts arrived in Las Vegas to compete for a spot in the Top 48. Episode 11 aired on July 5, 2011.

Las Vegas Week

Hollywood is just around the corner, but only 48 acts can make it through to the next round. When over 100 contestants gathered in the auditorium in Las Vegas, the judges announced that ten acts would be returning home immediately. But their fear was short-lived. Those ten acts were guaranteed a spot in Hollywood. Here are the acts:

  • Captain Stab Tuggo
  • The Rhinestone Ropers
  • The Fearless Flores Family
  • Team iLuminate
  • Lys Anges
  • Melissa Villasenor
  • Miami All-Stars
  • Professor Splash
  • The Silhouettes
  • Squawk Opera

Day 1: The Judges Favorites

The judges divided the remaining contestants into two groups. Those performing on Day 1 were the judges favorites. Those performing on Day 2 were considered standby. They will fight for the remaining spots after the Day 1 contestants have performed.

The acts were divided into categories, such as danger acts, singers, dance groups, magicians, etc., so that the judges could decide who was the best in each category. A few early favorites bombed during their second auditions, including all of the animal acts, the female vocal group 4Play, and opera singer Cindy Chang.

Dani Shay, who shocked the audience during her first audition because of her uncanny resemblance to Justin Bieber, attempted to perform an original song. But her nerves took over and she stopped halfway through. Because of her obvious talent, the judges gave her a second chance. They asked her to learn a more familiar cover song so that they could critique her properly. In the end, she beat out the other two female singers for a place in the Top 48.
