Captain America: Super Soldier, The Smurfs Dance Party, and Supreme Ruler: Cold War

Jul 17, 2011

The summer movie season is starting to kick into full gear and with them come video game tie-ins! This week is no exception as we see the release of Captain America: Super Soldier and The Smurfs Dance Party to go with their respective movies. For the non-movie fan, Supreme Ruler has a new addition to its outstanding series this week, this time covering the Cold War!

Captain America: Super Soldier

The Captain America game comes out almost two weeks earlier than the movie. Luckily, you won't have to worry about spoilers as the story in the video game is completely different than the one in the movie. You get to play as Captain America himself as you defeat the Iron Cross, HYDRA, Arnim Zola and Red Skull. The acrobatic combat system in this game looks super impressive as you can deflect bullets with your shield and then throw it at your enemies, allowing you to build up a combo and charge up a power bar for a crazy Crippling Strike finisher.

The Smurfs Dance Party

Come see why everybody loves the Smurfs! Everyone is invited to The Smurfs Dance Party on the Wii, including Smurfette, Papa Smurf, Clumsy Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Gutsy Smurf, and even Gargamel! The game will include popular songs from Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and Aly & AJ, as well as some classic tunes and real dance moves choreographed by experts.

Supreme Ruler: Cold War

Play as USA or USSR in Campaign Mode or play as any country in the world in Sandbox Mode. You can even play as something as random as Zimbabwe! Use diplomacy or trade to influence other countries to your side. If that fails, you can always send in your spies. Control your economy and military, or let your ministers take care of it. When necessary, fight it out in a real-time strategy war game. Just be sure to keep the DEFCON down or face nuclear war!
