If you thought it was fun playing as Batman and Robin in LEGO form, wait until you can take control of Wolverine, Ironman, Captain America, and Spider-man in the upcoming LEGO Marvel Super Heroes! The game will be released near the end of 2013 and will be on every console, including Wii U, PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox One and 360, Nintendo DS and 3DS, PC, and PlayStation Vita.

The Things Stars are Made Of

The plot of the game is fairly simple: Silver Surfer is knocked out of the sky and his awesome surfboard has broken into several Cosmic Bricks. Each brick has incredible power and it is up to the good guys to get them before they fall into the wrong hands. Players will be able to select from a cast of over 120 characters from the Marvel Universe. Only a handful have been confirmed so far, but they include Nick Fury and the Avengers as well as some baddies like Loki and Magneto.

As usual, you will need to unlock characters by playing through the story mode and each character has a special ability that can help you progress in the game. For example, Spider-man can reach places by swinging on his webs while the Hulk can pick up and throw large objects while also shrinking back to Bruce Banner to work computers. There will be voice acting for the characters and the dialogue includes the typical LEGO wit and humor that has made past games so fun and popular.

Lots to Marvel At

At the heart of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is the Marvel universe version of New York, which acts as the hub for the game. You can travel between the entrances for each level in the main storyline, take the helicarrier, or look for the secret hidden side-levels that are not part of the main storyline. There is tons to find and unlock. The minikits are back, 10 in each level, and finding them will unlock comic books for you to read. Discover them all when the game comes out later this year!
