So You Think You Can Dance: Season 10, Week 15 :: The Top 6 Perform/2 Eliminated

Aug 28, 2013

This week on So You Think You Can Dance (Season 10, Week 15), the top 6 contestants perform in the semi-finals. Read Kidzworld’s recap of the “The Top 6 Perform/2 Eliminated” which aired on August 27th, 2013, to discover what you missed.

This week Jesse Tyler Ferguson joined Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe to judge the top 6 dancers in the season 10 semi-finals. Each of the dancers performed 3 times: once with an all-star, once in a solo, and finally they partnered up with each other.

Performing with the All-stars

Paul and all-star Kathryn performed a Tyce Diorio jazz number about the fight for power. Mary loved the fast, articulate movement. Nigel thinks that Paul shouldn't be labeled a ballroom dancer when he's capable of absolutely everything.

Hayley and all-star Joshua performed a hip-hop routine about a champion boxer and an up-and-coming boxer. Jesse joked that the routine was the greatest workout video of all time. He loved that they totally embodied the characters.

Aaron and all-star Melanie performed a Broadway number about two people in love who push each other's buttons. Aaron accidently dropped Melanie at one point, but it fit in with the scene. Nigel still pointed out that Aaron is holding his shoulders too high.

Fik-shun and all-star Whitney tackled a ballroom number. This seems to be the most difficult style for b-boy Fik-shun, and Mary pointed out those rough moments. Nigel agreed that it wasn't strong, though for some reason, the judges always pity the b-boys and forgive them for mistakes that other dancers couldn't get away with.

Jasmine and all-star Neil performed a beautiful and raw contemporary routine about natural disasters and those affected by them. This earned the first standing ovation of the night. Jesse called Jasmine his favorite dancer this season.

Amy and all-star Alex took on a Bollywood number. Alex Wong was excited to come back and perform Bollywood, which he missed out on when he injured himself on his season. This routine also earned a standing ovation for their extreme athleticism.

Performances Together

Hayley and Paul teamed up for a contemporary routine about a man reassuring his girl that he'll always be there for her. Mary and Jesse gave them a standing ovation. Jesse kept it "Carly Rae Jepsen short" and said that was amazing.

Original partners Amy and Fik-shun came back together to perform a hip-hop routine which illustrated their wonderful chemistry. Nigel made a shout out to the VMA's: their routine showed that "you don't have to put it in someone's face to be sexy, Miley Cyrus."

Jasmine and Aaron came back together to perform a jazz number about a woman caught in a mirror. Mary said it was a phenomenal concept and loved how in sync they were. Jesse admitted he has a crush on Aaron.

Elimination

With such a strong top 6, it was hard to predict who would be eliminated. But after last week's votes, America sent Hayley and Paul home.
