Alpha Centauri :: PC Video Game Review

Dec 27, 2006

A colony ship from Earth lands on Alpha Centauri. During the flight the leaders had a fight and the ship divided into seven different groups. You take command of one of the groups and try to colonize Alpha Centauri. Now you're on a creepy alien world full of freaky kwlink 693>fungus, weird worms, and all kinds of stuff. Some of the groups of humans are really dangerous so watch out for them, others are friendly and will team up with you.

Colonizing Alpha Centauri is really cool. There is so much stuff you can do! You can build dozens of buildings, learn hundreds of cool science things, capture alien creatures and train them to do stuff. Try building underwater cities, jet fighters, or flying tanks. Grow forests and fungus, discover cloning, or make living metal. Sign treaties, go to war, and make bargains. You can have revolutions, parties, psychic spies, all kinds of stuff.

When it comes time to win there's all kinds of ways to do it. There's the good ole' fashioned 'Last One Standing' method where you wipe out everyone else. You can also win by election, once you get enough votes at the Planetary Council it's an instant victory. If you're smart enough you can win by 'Transcendance' I dunno how it works exactly but you end up making friends with the planet. If you don't wanna do it that way you can always win by money. If you've got enough moulah you can buy all the enemy cities and they have to give up to you. Isn't that right Mr. Gates?

If you've ever wanted to run the world this is your game, Mr. President.
