Super Mario Bros. 35

Nintendo already turned Tetris into a Battle Royale with Tetris 99 when Switch Online first launched. Super Mario Bros. 35 turns the original game into an all-out battle with 35 players competing to be the last Mario standing. Everyone plays their own level, but when you defeat an enemy, you send the koopas and goombas to the other players’ game. There is a catch though, the game is only going to be playable as long as the celebration lasts. After March 31st, 2021, you won’t be able to play so jump on it on October 1st when the game launches.

Super Mario 3D World

Another Wii U gem is hitting the Switch. Super Mario 3D World is a hectic multiplayer platformer where you can jump, stomp, and power-up with three other friends. The new version is also getting a new DLC called Bowser’s Fury. The Switch is home to many enhanced versions of Wii U games like Captain Toad and the upcoming Pikmin 3, and the more the merrier.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit

If you have ever dreamt of making your home into a Mario Kart course, Mario Kart Live makes it possible. You create obstacles in your real-world and drive a remote control Mario figure with your Switch. You can toss classic Mario Kart items in the game, and your remote control car will respond. It's going to be fun seeing the crazy home courses people build when it launches on October 16th.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars

The sequel to one of the best game compilations of all time. Super Mario 3D All-Stars packs Super Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, and Mario Galaxy in one package, some of the best 3D platformers ever made. The games will be playable at a high resolution, and silky smooth for 2020. There is a big catch though. Like the other All-Star collections before it, you can only grab this set before March 31st, 2021. What the plan is for fans who want to get their hands on these games after that has not been announced. It is a strange move for an otherwise stellar package.

Nintendo will be doing limited events in games like Mario Kart Tour, Splatoon 2, Mario Maker 2, and Smash Ultimate for the next few months. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is even getting some special furniture. 35 years is a long time, and since he has grown into one of the most recognizable characters in games, such a big celebration only makes sense.
