After hearing the soundtrack for Tomb Raider I'm even more excited about seeing the movie. The high-energy techno grooves are perfect songs for Lara Croft to swing from the rafters, rip around on her motor bike, invade tombs and kick some serious butt!

U2's Elevation (Tomb Raider Mix) kicks off the album with in-your-face guitars and Bono screaming "Oooohhh, oooohhh... El-e-va-tion!" The CD takes you on a roller coaster ride with fast techo grooves by Outkast, Moby, BT, Basement Jaxx, Fatboy Slim and Groove Armada. My favorite electric groove is Galaxy Bounce by The Chemical Brothers. It's got some of the funkiest noises and thumpin' bass I've ever heard. This song is so kickin' you won't be able to sit still when you listen to it. You might recognize the song Illuminati by Fatboy Slim with Bootsy Collins cuz it was previously released.

The darkest song on the album is Deep by Nine Inch Nails. There are also a few ethnic sounding grooves like Missy Elliott and Nelly Furtado's Get UR Freak On. Then things get ambient (slow electronica music) on tracks like Delerium's Terra Firma (Lara's Mix) which sounds kinda like the chants of Enigma (no doubt this song will find its way into some temple.)

This is a GREAT CD to add to your soundtrack collection and I love it. It's rare to find a CD that you can listen to all the way through. Do I think you'll like the Tomb Raider soundtrack? In the words of Lara Croft... "Absolutely!"
