1Hey Coach,
In basketball, how many seconds are on the shot clock?
jeetb

Hey jeetb,
The shot clock is used to time possessions by the team with the ball. If the team does not take a shot by the time the shot clock expires, then the ball is given to the other team. The shot clock was first used in the NBA in 1954 to prevent teams from holding on to the ball once they had a lead. Once the clock was introduced, the pace of basketball games became faster and there was more scoring.

In the NBA and in the FIBA World Championships, a 24-second shot clock is used. In the WNBA and in Olympic basketball, the shot clock is 30 seconds. In NCAA basketball, the clock is 35 seconds. The shot clock is not used in most high school basketball games because many schools can't afford the cost of a shot clock. This means games are often boring and low scoring once the fourth quarter starts. Players will often hang on to the ball until they are fouled or will just spend the entire fourth quarter passing it back and forth, rather than taking a shot.

1Hey Coach,
What is the long thing Allen Iverson wears on his right arm called?
A.I. Answer

Hey A.I. Answer,
The white thing on Allen Iverson's right arm, that partly covers some of his tattoos, is a brace for his elbow. He wears it to protect his shooting arm which has been injured several times while playing basketball. Allen plays a very aggressive style of basketball and often gets hit, blocked or knocked on his butt during one of his crossovers or many acrobatic drives to the hoop.
