The tiny rapper comes closer to superstardom.

The Songs

Twenty-two-year-old Kwasi Danquah aka Tinchy Stryder has had a year most young artists dream about. Growing out of East London’s grime scene, the rapper has already produced top-selling album Star In The Hood plus two recent U.K. No. 1s: Number 1 with N Dubz and Never Leave You with Sugababe Amelle Berrabah. Not letting his infectious energy slip, tiny Tinchy brings us his second effort, Catch 22.

The Sound

Moving on from the high-pitched tones of Star In The Hood (we assume his voice has broken this time round), Catch 22 is an assured and accomplished pop album. Standing at 18 tracks it’s a little on the long side but thanks to the rapper’s diverse musical style there’s no getting bored. Tinchy’s lyrics and rhythm keep the songs up-tempo and give them a beat you won’t be able to help but bob along to. Energetic, honest and fun – we reckon Tinchy’s a superstar in the making.
