Civilization V, Playstation Move, and New Carnival Games

Sep 16, 2010

Keep up-to-date with all the latest video game releases! Kidzworld has all the latest games to keep watch for. This week, we preview Civilization V, Playstation Move, and New Carnival Games!

Civilization V

The Civilization series lets you take one empire and basically redo history as you want it, building great wonders and conquering neighboring states as you invent everything from the wheel to the laser. Civ V brings that classic gameplay into a new era, revamping diplomacy and especially warfare. Whereas the game used to be played on a square grid, they are now on hexagons, a small change that makes combat twelve times as rewarding, along with several other changes. Civs expand more realistically, non-player civs and city-states populate the globe, and the victory conditions have changed. Just go ahead and throw your history book out the window, you'll learn more from this game and you'll never want to stop playing.

Playstation Move

You've experienced the Wii's motion controls. And you may have seen the prototypes of Microsoft's Kinect motion control system. Now the Playstation Move brings motion control to the PS3, in what many consider the best-controlling hardware out there. Many existing games, like MAG, Heavy Rain, and High Velocity Bowling, can now be controlled with the new Move, and many games are coming out in the following months which will require it, including KungFu Rider, Start the Party, and the EyePet! It tracks your movements even more accurately than the Wii MotionPlus, and it's available this week for your PS3.

New Carnival Games

The original Wii minigame best-seller Carnival Games let you use motion controls to simulate tons of different classic carnival activities. Well, New Carnival Games brings the number of minigames up to 30, while also adding in new attractions like the fortune teller and claw game. Fling baseballs at plates down-range, shoot a cannon at those big creepy clown teeth, and shoot down moving skeleton targets, all with the added precision of Wii MotionPlus.
