Batman: Arkham Knight is Coming in 2014

Mar 05, 2014

There had been whispers that Rocksteady were developing another entry in the critically and fan adored Batman Arkham series. Rumors to some, but us fans knew it was coming.

Batman: Arkham Knight has been officially been announced. Arkham Knight is the true finale to the epic Arkham trilogy from Rocksteady and it's coming this year for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. Watch the explosive announcement trailer below.

Arkham Knight Announce Trailer - "Father to Son"

I say "trilogy" from Rocksteady as Batman Arkham Origins was actually developed by another team, Warner Bros Games Montreal and was also missing some key creative talent, including arguably the best voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy.

Arkham Knight brings the original Arkham development team back - and Conroy - to wrap things up. In an interview in the latest Game Informer, Rocksteady game director, Sefton Hill gave fans a few tidbits of information. Arkham Knight is set one year after the events of Arkham City and features a world to explore five times larger and much more densely populated.

To compensate for the much larger world, you'll be able to drive the newly designed Batmobile, which allows you to also eject out of it at any time.

Sefton Hill also comments that there will be no multiplayer. That his team plans "to focus on making the best single-player experience we can. We don't feel that it needs a multiplayer element. Warner Bros. backed that up right at the start.”

Another interesting piece of information also came from the interview. 'Gotham Knight' is actually not referring to Batman but instead a new antagonist that will “really challenge Batman to go head to head with him in lots of different ways.” says Hill.

Lots of information coming with this announcement and with the game slated to be out later this year, expect to see Arkham Knight in action at this years Electronic Entertainment Expo, E3.
