There are some great looking games packed into that tiny machine.

While you'll see some sheer graphical power on our list of best looking PlayStation 4 games, the Nintendo Switch is able to keep their games looking gorgeous thanks to some original art styles. If you're in the mood to pick up some titles that are easy on the eyes for your handheld/console hybrid then look no further! Here are our 3 favorite looking games on the Nintendo Switch.

1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

If you are looking for something pretty in the more traditional sense than Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will likely hit the spot. While the Nintendo Switch won't be outputting anything in 4K, like the PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe puts out the clearest image that the Switch is capable of at 1080p when docked and 720p in handheld mode. The smooth 60 frames-per-second gameplay means that you won't be seeing any hitches in the crazy on-screen action. And, as anyone who has ever played Mario Kart before can tell you, things will certainly get pretty crazy. Shells, bananas, and more will fly across the screen and keep things looking strikingly chaotic, especially when you incorporate those colorful sparks that flow from your vehicle while drifting. Just be sure to avoid those angry stares from Luigi.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Breath of the Wild is a perfect example of Nintendo keeping a game gorgeous with a stellar art style, similar to how Cuphead made our list of best looking Xbox One games. Much of the gameplay is focused around minimalism and that extends to the presentation Hyrule in the latest Zelda entry. You'll hear the wind blow through the air, see clouds cast shadows over vast fields, and likely laugh at silly, but detailed, animations from Link and his enemies. Breath of the Wild is a game that earned so much praise due to its world and how it nailed the in-game sandbox. Tons of different locations keep things from ever looking too similar throughout your likely long playthrough with snowcapped mountains, breezy deserts, and tropical coasts that all have their own distinct look and feel.

3. Super Mario Odyssey

While Zelda has its own visual look, what got Super Mario Odyssey on this list is the game's use of multiple different art styles. Mario's globe-trotting adventure takes him all over and, despite Breath of the Wild coming across as vast but lonely, Super Mario Odyssey keeps things feeling exciting and high spirited from beginning to end. You're going to see a lot of different creatures and environments across the world, from dinosaurs to dragons to Donkey Kong-themed cities and such visual variety makes finding the game's many secrets a thrill from beginning to end.
